Emerging Technologies in Distance Education is an open access book showcasing how emerging participatory technologies have been used in online distance education. In this session, the editor will discuss current issues and future directions for using emerging technologies with special attention to pedagogical, technological, cultural, and social factors that influence the adoption and successful integration of emerging technologies in distance education. Discussion will also focus on a future edition and vision for the book.
